CANCUN FC WINS IDEAL ELEVEN OF DAY 13 OF THE MX EXPANSION LEAGUE

Cancún, Quintana Roo October 17, 2023.- The good moment that Cancún FC is experiencing in the 2023 Apertura Tournament of the MX Expansion League, meant the nominations of the goalkeeper, Edson Reséndez, the midfielder, Raúl Castillo and the teacher, Luis Arce , as the most outstanding technical director of matchday 13.

The victory they achieved against Alebrijes at the Technological Institute of Oaxaca (ITO), allowed the Iguanas to place themselves in third position with 22 points, behind one of the leaders, Leones Negros of the University of Guadalajara and Mineros de Zacatecas, with 23.

As if that were not enough, it represented the Caribbean's first victory in Itsma territory and second as a visitor in the current campaign, curiously, by a landslide (previously they did it against another of the leaders, Club Atlético La Paz).

Edson Reséndez, originally from Guasave, Sinaloa, 27 years old, is playing his fourth tournament with the Caribbean team, since he arrived in Cancun in the 2022 Clausura Tournament.

So far, he has accumulated 62 games in the regular season, all as a starter, in addition to one Reclassification and two final phase games in the Clausura 2022 (65 in total).

Edson dressed as a hero with a spectacular save from Julio César Cruz, who had finished off with a half scissors, when Alebrijes was looking for a 2-2 tie.

For his part, the 22-year-old midfielder from Tamaulipas, Raúl Castillo, was also a fundamental piece for the Cancunenses to emerge victorious, with the second score that, at that moment, gave peace of mind at halftime.

Castillo was part of Christian 'Chaco' Giménez's process in Clausura 2021. That time, he played 14 games (12 as a starter), a period in which he scored a goal.

In Apertura 2023, in ten games, nine as a starter, he scored four goals, becoming one of the pillars of the Iguanas.

Led by Luis Arce, the team is enjoying a great season, classified as one of the favorites to advance to the final phase.
