CANCUN FC ENLIGHTENS MAYA CULTURE AT NATIONAL INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE FAIR

Las Iguanas strengthen ties with the Academy of Mayan Language and Culture of Quintana Roo (ACAMAYA), within the framework of the FLIN, in Felipe Carrillo Puerto

Cancún, Quintana Roo August 24, 2023.- Cancún FC praises Mayan culture at the National Indigenous Languages Fair (FLIN).

Its flag green jersey, the third of its original line, is inspired precisely by the Mayan culture, an emblem that exalts the beauty of the mangroves, abundant jungles, crystalline cenotes, every corner of Quintana Roo.

After its launch in November of last year, a percentage of the sale of this t-shirt was donated to the Academy of Mayan Language and Culture of Quintana Roo.

As if that were not enough, the Iguanas made history, as the first team to join or include a local artist, to create a soccer jersey.

Recently, on the occasion of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, Caribbean people joined the FLIN, dedicated to the 23 languages spoken in the ethnolinguistic region of the southeast or Mayab, made up of the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Yucatan.

In this sense, Cancún FC gave a t-shirt to the Academy of Mayan Language and Culture of Quintana Roo (ACAMAYA) and supported with logistical resources for the event, in Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

Julkín Chablé, graduate in Arts Management and Development, who also serves as a promoter, assistant to Tic's ACAMAYA AC and multidisciplinary artist, received the Iguanas jersey.

The National Indigenous Languages Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico through the National Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI), is thanks to the combined efforts of federal, state, municipal, community, international organizations, organized groups, teachers, cultural and linguistic promoters and intellectuals and speakers of national indigenous languages.
