The board of directors of the Expansion League champion announces an important alliance with the AHCPMIM for the promotion of the team's games at national and international level
Cancun, Quintana Roo March 25, 2024.- Cancun FC teams up with the Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres.
The Iguanas' board of directors, headed by their vice president, Giovanni Solazzi, accompanied by Eduardo Domínguez Ibarra, executive vice president of the AHCPMIM, offered the details of this important alliance, which will allow the promotion of the team's games to be strengthened at a national and international level.
Diego Rodríguez, director of marketing, Alejandro Vela, director of sports operations, and Juan Pablo de Zulueta Razo, secretary of tourism in Benito Juárez, also attended the meeting with the media at the facilities of the aforementioned Association.
Established in 1977, it currently has more than 120 associated hotels, including hotels in the Riviera Maya, and more than 50 allied members, including the champion of the Expansion League.
Cancún, a world-class tourist destination certified by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), is represented by Cancún FC in the 'Silver League', with its sights set on the First Division.
“Cancún FC promotes sports and invites people to come to the stadium, just as we do with the two very successful hotel tournaments we have. We have to promote, with the market we currently have, mainly the United States, with 50% and the national market, estimated at 40%, with this synergy we can achieve important things for Cancún.”
“It is a pleasure to have you as affiliate members,” said the host, Eduardo Domínguez Ibarra, executive vice president of AHCPMIM.
For his part, Giovanni Solazzi acknowledged that 'our wish is for Cancun to be the Las Vegas of Mexico.'
“Cancun is an incredible place, one of the main tourist destinations in the world, and through soccer, the number one sport in Mexico, we want to achieve as a group an impact like in Las Vegas, thanks to this affiliation.
The team's slogan is 'For Everyone' and we want to be the meeting point for Cancun, that is, attract those who were born here, those who moved to Cancun and of course, tourists.
"Our stadium is the only one in the world with a jacuzzi, a hair salon, art, a sports bar ('La Nueve'), and soon a zip line, and lots of things for entertainment. In terms of sports, we are champions after a year and a half, and we plan to soon be in the First Division," said Solazzi.
Diego Rodríguez, marketing director, explained that international tourists who usually attend Cancún FC games are Americans, Canadians, Argentines, Spaniards, Italians, French, Japanese and Koreans.
"We are talking about an average of 100 international tourists per game, who, aside from the sporting aspect, have enjoyed the experience offered by Cancún FC at the Andrés Quintana Roo stadium," he said.
