PIONEROS CANCUN FC CONCLUDES TOUR WITH DEFEAT AGAINST AGUACATEROS
A great goal from Jaime Guzmán had tied the game against the Michoacans in Peribán, however, Mario Barajas made the difference for his team, on the eighth day of the 2023-2024 Season of the Premier League (Serie 'A', Group 2)
Peribán, Michoacán September 30, 2023.- With a defeat (2-1) against Aguacateros de Peribán at the 'Hermanos López Rayón' Sports Unit, Pioneros Cancún FC concluded its tour of three consecutive games, ahead of the double day that will be drawn next week in the 2023-2024 Premier League Season (Serie 'A', Group 2).
For almost half an hour the scoreboard showed no movement, until Daniel Valencia sent a cross from the left to the other side, where Alan Cota appeared with a cross shot to Jorge de la Rosa's right post. It was 1-0 for the hosts.
Pioneros, who had not generated opportunities at the beginning of the second half, tied the duel (1-1) with a superb goal from Jaime Daniel Guzmán, with a powerful shot from outside the large area, to the left corner of the goalkeeper, Joel Muñoz. Great goal at 54'!
Aguacateros responded almost immediately, at minute 56 to be exact, when the Cancunenses did not settle on the field, after the celebration, which Mario Barajas took advantage of to avoid the departure of the goalkeeper, De la Rosa, and beat him with a shot to the center from his cabin. Those from Peribán regained the advantage (2-1).
Later, at 74', Barajas again had the third for the hosts with a low shot that threatened the left post, but Jorge de la Rosa avoided it with a great save.
The defeat leaves the Caribbean behind with nine points. For its part, Aguacateros already has 15.
Pioneros will reappear at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium, on Wednesday, October 4, against Inter de Querétaro, since on the weekend, Sunday the 8th, they will do so as a visitor against Racing FC Porto Palmeiras.
