Cancún, Quintana Roo, September 6, 2024.- Great game at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium! Cancún FC receives the visit of the runner-up, Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara, on the seventh day of the 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX.

The Iguanas return home with the mission of getting back on the winning track after the defeat they suffered against Venados in Mérida.

In fact, in their most recent appearance as host, they lost by the minimum difference against La Jaiba Brava. Before, also at home, they had tied without goals against Mineros de Zacatecas.

For now, the team led by professor Luis Arce occupies eighth place with seven points, derived from a pair of wins, a draw, a pair of losses, four goals in favor and five allowed.

This will be the fifth time they have met in 'paradise'. So far, the balance is two wins (both by the same score of 2-0 in the Clausura 2021 and Apertura 2023), one draw (2-2 in the Clausura 2023) and one loss (0-1 in the Apertura 2021).

In the last year, in the 'Andrés Quintana Roo', the Caribbeans only fell on a couple of occasions: first, on Wednesday, September 6 against Coyotes de Tlaxcala (1-2) on the eighth day of the Apertura 2023 and against Tampico Madero (0-1), in the fifth of the current contest.

Undefeated as a visitor in the regular season.

The University of Guadalajara has 13 points so far, with four wins, one draw, eight goals scored and three conceded.

The squad led by Alfonso Sosa has not known defeat in this Apertura 2024, however, it is not new either, since in the Clausura 2024, it fell once during the regular phase (2-4 in the 'Jalisco') against Club Atlético La Paz, on date 13, on Wednesday, March 27.

Further back, in the Apertura 2023, they also stumbled just once (3-0 at the 'Guaycura' stadium against the same team from La Paz. Precisely that result of the sixth matchday a year ago against the Baja Californians, on Tuesday, August 22, meant the last setback that the team from Guadalajara suffered outside of Guadalajara, during the regular calendar.

In the Liguilla, the team from Jalisco easily beat Mineros de Zacatecas and La Paz, reaching the Final, but Atlante defeated them by a landslide (4-1 on aggregate), thanks to their victories (2-0 in the first leg and 1-2 in the second leg).
