With their starting team, the Iguanas tied the first match without goals, but lost the second match with their youth team, at the Mayakoba complex.

Cancún, Quintana Roo, June 26, 2024.- Cancún FC is finalizing details ahead of the 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX and as part of its preparation, it held its first friendly game against Rayados de Monterrey at the Mayakoba complex.

The match featured regular players in the team of coach Luis Arce, such as the goalkeeper Gustavo Gutiérrez, the defenders Benjamín Galindo and Hedgardo Marín, the midfielders Junior Moreira, Jorge Díaz Price, Johan Alonzo and the Colombian forward, José Rodríguez, to name a few.

For their part, Rayados combined starters and substitutes. The most well-known players were undoubtedly the Argentine goalkeeper, Esteban Andrada, the central defender, Héctor Moreno, the Colombian right back, Estefan Medina and the winger, Jesús 'Tecatito' Corona.

The game ended goalless in the first sixty minutes. José Rodríguez, Johan Alonzo and Jorge Díaz Price had the clearest chances for the Cancun team, but the goalkeeper, Andrada, prevented his goal from falling with great saves.

In the second match, the coaches of both teams opted for an alternative lineup. Fernando 'Tano' Ortiz lined up mostly young players, led by Alfonso 'Ponchito' González and Germán Berterame. For the Iguanas, the goalkeeper, Cristopher Andrade, Rodrigo Reyes, Axl Padilla, Paúl Uscanga and Cheick Traore appeared, among others, also mixed in with young players.

In the end, the Monterrey team imposed conditions (3-0) with goals from Robert de la Rosa, Germán Berterame and Christian Pita.
