CANCUN FC TIES AGAINST MINEROS WITH GREAT PERFORMANCE BY GUSTAVO GUTIÉRREZ
The goalkeeper saved the Caribbeans in the draw (1-1) as visitors, at the 'Carlos Vega Villalba' stadium, corresponding to the fourth day; Jorge Díaz Price gave the Iguanas the advantage.
Cancún, Quintana Roo, February 1, 2025.- Cancún FC came out unscathed from the 'Carlos Vega Villalba' stadium, thanks to a great performance by the goalkeeper, Gustavo Gutiérrez, in the draw (1-1) against Mineros de Zacatecas, on the fourth day of the 2025 Clausura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX.
As expected, it was a merciless fight between Zacatecans and Caribbeans.
At minute 35, Bryan Figueroa fired a long-distance shot that went just wide of Gustavo Gutiérrez's right post. The Iguanas were saved!
Near the end of the first half, Mineros created another dangerous play, this time with a long-distance shot from Luis Razo.
Right after that action, the home team suffered the expulsion of Diego Marmolejo for a foul on Johan Alonzo.
Already in the second half, Jorge Díaz Price opened the scoring at 52' with a shot at the base of the left post of goalkeeper Luis Durán. In the action, José Rodríguez was fouled in the penalty area, a clear penalty, however, referee Joaquín Alberto Vizcarra applied the advantage rule, which the number '9' took advantage of to break the tie.
A blackout interrupted the game, just when it was experiencing its best moments. In the end, the referees made up for 22 minutes. During that time, Kevin Magaña scored the equaliser with a low shot at the base of Gustavo Gutiérrez's left post.
Previously, Gutiérrez saved his team twice, when the scarlet team was trying to get back into the game.
The honors division represents eight points for Cancún FC, the same as Mineros.
On the fifth date, the Iguanas will repeat as visitors, this time on Saturday, February 8 against 'La Jaiba Brava' at the 'Tamaulipas' stadium.
