The midfielder from Durango, from Correcaminos of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT), is the second reinforcement of the Iguanas for the 2025 Clausura Tournament of the MX Expansion League

Cancún, Quintana Roo, January 8, 2025.- Cancún FC adds a new reinforcement for the 2025 Clausura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX.

Armando Chávez Rivas, a 24-year-old midfielder from Durango, 1.70 meters tall and who was part of the Correcaminos of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT), the current rival of the Iguanas, is the second new addition to the team headed by professor Luis Arce.

Born in Victoria de Durango, on May 27, 2000 and with more than a hundred games with the Tamaulipas team (2019 to 2024), he completed the entire process since he joined the Third Division squad in 2017.

Already in 2018, he played with the Premier League team, until he made his debut with the first team, on January 16, 2019, in the victory (2-1) of the 'Corre' against the Potros de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM), in the Cup. Later, in the League, he did so on October 4 of that year, as a starter in the draw (0-0) against Cafetaleros de Chiapas.

Chávez joins fellow midfielder Iván Fernando Ochoa as the Caribbean team's main new additions for the next semester.
