CANCUN FC VISITS THE LEADER IN SEARCH OF RETURN TO THE PATH OF VICTORY

The Iguanas will draw their fourth game on tour, with the goal of ending their streak of two consecutive losses in the 2023 Apertura Tournament of the MX Expansion League

Cancún, Quintana Roo September 12, 2023.- Cancún FC will cross the country to face in La Paz, Baja California Sur, the leader of the 2023 Apertura Tournament of the MX Expansion League, Club Atlético La Paz.

The squad led by the teacher, Luis Arce, lost (1-2) against Coyotes de Tlaxcala at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium, which meant their second consecutive defeat and falling to tenth position.

“We have a very important game to win. We analyzed the rival very well and of course, I trust my players unconditionally to leave La Paz with a good result,” Arce acknowledged.

So far, the Caribbean team has three wins, one draw, three losses, seven goals for, eight against (-1 difference) and ten points.

As a visitor, the Iguanas accumulate a draw (0-0) against the champion, Tapatío, in Guadalajara, in addition to a couple of setbacks (1-0) against Dorados de Sinaloa and (3-0) against Tepatitlán, respectively.

In a couple of games, both teams split wins. First, in the Apertura 2022, the people from Cancun beat La Paz (2-0) at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo'. Later, in the Clausura 2023, the Baja Californians did the same with a goal from Jesús Salas, on the seventh day.

Unbeaten
at home

With 16 points, located in the lead of the competition, Club Atlético La Paz is undefeated in its territory, the 'Guaycura' stadium. Those led by Jaime Durán defeated Celaya (2-1), Leones Negros of the University of Guadalajara (3-0) and Cimarrones de Sonora (2-1), in that order.

The only time they tied was on the third date (2-2) with Tapatío, on Sunday, August 6. In their match on the eighth day, they lost (2-0) as a visitor against Atlético Morelia.
