Cancún, Quintana Roo, July 25, 2024.- True to its style, Cancún FC is betting on a squad that combines youth and experience, looking ahead to the upcoming 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX.
In this sense, the Iguanas will reinforce their attack with Gael Rodríguez Montiel, the young face of goal scoring, 22 years old, former member of the Pumas of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
Born on May 14, 2002 in Mexico City, he has stood out with the Caribbean team during the preseason as an important element in the offensive, as he demonstrated in the friendly against Rayados del Monterrey, in the Riviera Maya, with the pair of goals that meant the tie (2-2).
With the felines, he added minutes with Pumas Sub 20 in the 2021-2022 (11 games and one goal) and 2022-2023 (32 games and 17 goals) campaigns. He was also part of Pumas Tabasco during the 2022-2023 season, a period in which he participated in eight matches and scored one goal.
