BOSTON CANCUN FC FALLS WITH ITS FACE TO THE SUN IN BONFIL

Nicolás Segura, via penalty, in the first half, and César Díaz, in the second half, make the difference (2-0) for Ejidatarios in 'La Parcela', on the tenth day of the 2024-2025 Season of the LTDP

Alfredo V. Bonfil, Quintana Roo, November 16, 2024.- He fought until the end, but could not avoid the defeat (2-0) against Ejidatarios de Bonfil on the tenth day of the 2024-2025 Season of the Third Professional Division League.

Nicolás Segura, via penalty, in the first half (6') and César Díaz, in the second half (83'), made the difference for Ejidatarios at the 'La Parcela' field, a stage that showed off its best finery to host the Iguanas subsidiary.

The duel pitted the two best teams in Group One, up to that point, with the Cancun team in first place and the Bonfil team in second. The lead was at stake and the great atmosphere in the stands justified the expectations that the fierce battle provoked.

The drums, the chants, a tiger dressed in the host's colours and two teams with a big heart and football in their blood, engaged in a game of power to power.

With a penalty, Ejidatarios opened the scoring in the fifth minute, courtesy of Nicolás Segura, putting the boys led by the teacher, Edgar Iván Liévano Flores, against the wall.

The goal fell like a bucket of cold water on the Cancun squad.
At 29', Aldo Solano took the plunge and tried to intimidate goalkeeper Adrián Irigoyen with a long-distance shot. Fortunately for Ejidatarios, the action did not go any further. Boston was in the fight.

Little by little, the visitors tried to take possession of the ball against the Ejidatarios, who were withdrawn in their defensive sector, but dangerous on offense.

The best was yet to come. The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams aiming for a second goal, while the visitors wanted a draw.

Aldo Solano, a threat to the Bonfileños, tried once more with a shot, this time deviated from the base of Irigoyen's right post.

Boston did not give up. They never stopped fighting, and proof of this was Gael Gutierrez's shot, which threatened to beat Irigoyen in the right corner.

When Boston was attacking the most, but without being forceful, Bonfil provoked a counterattack on the right, led by César Díaz, who with a powerful shot to the second post, beat the goalkeeper, Tomás Reyes. At 83', Ejidatarios was already winning (2-0).

The result leaves Boston Cancún FC at 25 points. Ejidatarios, on the other hand, has 26.

On the eleventh day, the Cancun team will visit Inter Playa del Carmen at the 'Mario Villanueva Madrid' Sports Complex.
