BOSTON CANCUN FC UNSTOPPABLE AT HOME; BEATS DEPORTIVO CTM BÚHOS
The Iguanas affiliate beats (4-0) the Portomorelos squad on matchday 16 (Group One) of the 2024-2025 Season of the Third Professional Division League (LTDP), on the synthetic field of the CEDAR in Cancún.
Cancún, Quintana Roo, February 8, 2025.- Boston Cancún FC does not give up ground in the search for the leadership of Group One of the 2024-2025 Season of the Third Professional Division League (LTDP), thanks to its victory (4-0) against Deportivo CTM Búhos on the synthetic field of the State High Performance Sports Center (CEDAR) in Cancún.
The team led by professor Edgar Iván Liévano Flores already has 40 points in the competition, in the dispute they have with Deportiva Venados and Ejidatarios de Bonfil for the top of the first sector.
The game started and Boston created the first big chance when Gael Gutiérrez hit the ball into the goal.
In the ninth minute, Boston opened the scoring with a shot from Gael Gutiérrez that hit the base of goalkeeper Carlos Pérez's right post.
A couple of minutes later, Gutiérrez himself had the second chance in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, Pérez, but the latter deflected it with his leg, saving his team.
Now, it was Enoc Márquez, the orchestrator of a great play through the center of the field, eluding the marking of several rivals, until he set up Gael Gutiérrez, but this time he could not connect with the ball and his shot flew wide.
Before the half hour mark, at 26', Boston made the second goal a reality, through Diego Oliva, assisted by Enoc Márquez, with a low shot to the base of the left post of the Portomorelos goalkeeper.
Despite the disadvantage, the visitors did not give up and created a dangerous chance when Alexis Basto almost beat the goalkeeper, Gastón Santos.
Already in the second half, Juan Marín almost scored the third goal, but he shot just wide of the goalkeeper, Carlos Pérez.
Finally, at 60', Marín made it 3-0, with a touch as Pérez came out.
Gael Gutiérrez put the final figures in the 80th minute with the fourth goal, a great goal from a free kick.
The victory allows the Bostonians to reach 40 points. On the other hand, Deportivo CTM Búhos stagnated with 11.
On the 17th date, the Cancun team will visit Deportiva Venados, on Sunday, February 16.
