Telchac Pueblo, Yucatán, April 6, 2024.- A double by Diego Arreola and an own goal led Boston Cancún FC to its fourteenth victory of the 2023-2024 Season of the Third Professional Division League (LTDP), Group One against Mons Calpe Sporting Club (1-3) at the 'San Pedro de Telchac Pueblo' field.
The game started off lively, with both teams making attempts, but neither team was able to score at the crucial moment. It continued like this until the Bostonians opened the scoring in the 39th minute, thanks to Diego Arreola with a header from a corner kick.
Before the end of the first half, at 42' to be exact, the Yucatecans tied the score (1-1) through Jonathan Matos with a shot to the base of the left post by Lusiel Gómez.
The team led by coach Edgar Iván Liévano Flores regained the lead (1-2) with a goal from Arreola himself, with a lobbed shot, at the start of the second half. At 79', an own goal meant the third and final 1-3.
The victory allows the Caribbeans to add 46 points. For their part, the Yucatecans remained with 43.
On matchday 25, the Cancún FC affiliate will face Pioneros Juniors on Saturday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. on the synthetic field of the State High Performance Sports Center (CEDAR).
