Cancún, Quintana Roo February 19, 2024.- Cancún FC and Mineros de Zacatecas will collide again at the 'Carlos Vega Villalba' stadium, after the vibrant Semifinal that they drew the previous semester, and proclaimed the Iguanas the winner, in the end , champion.

Currently, both squads have seven points and are in the fight for the first places in Clausura 2024 of the Expansion League, so it couldn't be better to start the seventh day of the competition.

At the moment, their balance is two wins, one draw, three losses, seven goals for and seven against.

The tournament is increasingly intensifying, with a platoon of six teams, including, of course, Cancún FC, with seven units. Tapatío, Dorados, Mineros, Alebrijes and Tepatitlán are five points behind second and six behind first.

Those led by the teacher, Luis Arce, tied (1-1) with the Atlético Celaya Toros at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium. At home, they already have nine games without losing, however, the challenge for this commitment is to come out with the victory to not lose the lead, for now held by Venados FC, with 13 points.

This Tuesday's event in Zacatecas territory will mean the fourth game for the Caribbean team as a visitor, with the great opportunity to add their first three points, after the setbacks on tour precisely against Correcaminos and Leones Negros of the University of Guadalajara, in that order.

Despite the altitude and climate of Zacatecas, the people of Cancun have shown personality to overcome obstacles of this nature, as they did in the Apertura 2023 against Atlante in Mexico City, first, on matchday 14, when they emerged victorious (0 -1) and later, in the first leg of the Final, which rescued a goalless draw.

It will be the 128th game in the history of the franchise, the fifth visit to Zacatecas and fourth in the regular phase, since in the recent Apertura 2023 they faced each other in the Liguilla, in the first leg of the Semifinal, with victory by the minimum difference for the scarlets

A triumph
at home

In three matches at the 'Carlos Vega Villalba' stadium, Mineros de Zacatecas added a victory (3-0) against Correcaminos, on Thursday, January 11, on the first day. From there, they recorded a couple of defeats against Jalisco teams: Tapatío (0-4) and the University of Guadalajara (0-1) on the second and fourth dates, in that order.

Two victories, one draw, three losses, six goals for, eight against (-2 their difference) and the seven units referred to above, is the balance of the squad led by the Spaniard, Ignacio Castro.

The Zacatecans keep in mind the elimination they suffered in the previous tournament, when the now champion, Cancún FC, beat them (3-2) in the second leg of the Semifinal. The aggregate concluded with a thrilling tie (3-3), but due to their better position in the table, the Caribbean advanced to the Final.
