CANCUN FC CELEBRATES 'MEDIA DAY' AHEAD OF THE LIGUILLA

Cancún, Quintana Roo November 13, 2023.- Cancún FC closes ranks ahead of its participation in the Liguilla of the 2023 Apertura Tournament of the MX Expansion League.
'For Everyone' is the slogan of the Iguanas and proof of this is that they celebrated their 'Media Day' in the 'Tourist Lounge' area of the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium to offer the details of the duel against Venados FC, their rival in the Quarterfinals.
“This Liguilla is very special for us, because of the season we had and it places us as a serious candidate for the title. You have to enjoy every game and training session, go step by step, show that this place is First Division,” said the defender, Benjamín Galindo Jr.
In addition to the defender, the midfielders, Junior Moreira, Johan Alonzo and Raúl Castillo, as well as the Colombian forward, José Rodríguez, also attended the meeting with journalists.
With 28 points (a record for the franchise), the Caribbean team finished the regular phase as super leaders, with new records in practically all areas: most wins (nine), goals for (26) and fewest goals against (15).
“The main motivation, without a doubt, is family. Personally, before each game, I like to talk to my parents, receive their words of encouragement and blessings.
We are going to go out with everything from the beginning. The support of the fans, of course, will be fundamental,” acknowledged Raúl Castillo, a key player in the teacher's scheme, Luis Arce.
In the Play-In, Venados FC fell to Atlético Morelia in Serie 'A', however, as a loser in the same bracket, they faced Club Atlético La Paz, winner of Serie 'B'. In the end, the Yucatecans would emerge victorious, with a goal from Miguel Alonso García.
Thursday, November 16 at 10:05 p.m. at the 'Carlos Iturralde Rivero' stadium and Sunday the 19th at the 'Andrés Quintana' Roo at 6:00 p.m., both local time, will be the Quarterfinal duels between Yucatecans and Cancunians .
