CANCUN FC LAUNCHES 'A GOAL FOR THE LIGHT' CAMPAIGN IN SYNERGY WITH EYE CLINIC
Each goal scored by the Iguanas during the 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX will benefit children, young people and senior citizens with vision problems, helping to improve their quality of life and integration into society.
Cancún, Quintana Roo, August 1, 2024.- A few hours before their debut in the 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Liga de Expansión MX, the Iguanas announced the 'Un Gol por la Luz' campaign in synergy with Clínica de Ojos.
“We have been in Cancun for a long time, 15 years, dedicated to helping people with limited resources or less access to health issues. I loved the enthusiasm with which Cancun FC arrives and we, of course, want to be part of that enthusiasm.
“Our community deserves a First Division team and if it has social goals, I'll join, but how do we do it? Very easy, with continuous care instruments. We're going to operate on people for all the goals they score here. We'll always support in whatever way we can,” said the General Manager of 'Clínica de Ojos', Dr. Joaquín Lozano Guash.
The Retina and Vitreous Specialist, accompanied by Diego Rodríguez Fueyo, Marketing Director of Las Iguanas, explained that 'eye health can be corrected as long as it is in the hands of professionals.'
During the 2023-2024 Season, Cancún FC scored 57 goals (34 in the Apertura 2023 (26 in the regular phase and 8 in the Liguilla) and 23 in the Clausura 2024 (21 in the regular phase, one against Atlante in the Quarterfinals and another against the Potros in the first leg of the Campeón de Campeones Final).
In Cancun, those led by professor Luis Arce achieved 38 goals (24 in the Apertura 2023 and 14 in the Clausura 2024, including the one that made the Potros the first leg of the Final of the Campeón de Campeones).
“We are very happy to launch this campaign, which is called 'A Goal for the Light'. In the Clausura 2024 we scored a total of 14 goals at home, so we hope to achieve more and help more people. We seek to contribute, Cancún FC is delighted to support, and what better than to unite sport, health and, as I said, join together to benefit people who need it.
“It is an honour to see this club grow, something very nice because in the end football belongs to the community. As we have said at the time, in other interviews, we do not own anything, the club belongs to the people, therefore, it is a very important responsibility,” said Rodríguez Fueyo.
Cancún FC will begin its participation in the Apertura 2024 this Saturday, August 3, against the Alteños de Tepatitlán, at 6:00 p.m. at the 'Andrés Quintana Roo' stadium.
