Louisville, Kentucky, USA, September 10, 2024.- After a goalless draw in the first half, Cancún FC and Louisville City FC played a thrilling international friendly at 'Lynn Family Stadium', which proclaimed the Americans the winner (4-2).
Professor Luis Arce played with Christopher Andrade; Carlos Prieto, Leonardo Zabala, Rodrigo Reyes and Axl Padilla; Paul Uscanga, Andres Iniestra, Jean Unjanque and Adam Zaragoza; Zahid Muñoz and Mauro Guadarrama.
For its part, the USL squad of American soccer did so with Damian Las; Manny Pérez, Brandon Dayes, Arturo Ordóñez and Amadou Dia; Jake Morris, Carlos Moguel Jr., Niall Mccabe and Sam Gleadle; Adrien Pérez and Phillip Goodrum.
At 22', the African, Jean Unjanque, stood in front of the goalkeeper, Damian Las, when Rodrigo Reyes started a counterattack from the defensive sector, after being enabled by Adán Zaragoza in midfield.
Eight minutes later, Christopher Andrade saved his goal when Phillip Goodrum tested him with a shot at the near post.
The duel was distinguished by the impetus shown by both teams, until at minute 50, 'LouCity' opened the scoring with a goal by Evan Dávila, who only hit the ball in the area, after being passed on the left by Jake Morris. Later, at minute 60, Adrien Pérez scored the second.
The Caribbean team adjusted with Gael Rodríguez and Jorge Díaz Price, both at 61', replacing Paul Uscanga and Jean Unjanque, respectively.
It was the 71st minute when the newcomer, Jonathan Hernández, sent a great service from the right to the heart of the area, where the Cancun native, Mauro Guadarrama, anticipated the defense with a header to the right corner of the goalkeeper, Ryan Troutman, who had taken the place of Damian Las.
Jansen Wilson scored the third in the 74th minute with a low shot off Andrade's right post. It all started when Sean Totsch ran through the middle of the field, eluding the Iguanas' defense.
Once again, this time at 85', Mauro Guadarrama took advantage of a free kick from his countryman, Jorge Díaz Price, on the right, and with a powerful shot in the area, he beat the goalkeeper, Troutman, to bring his team closer (3-2).
This is the third goal for the number '11' in a friendly in the United States. He previously scored on July 27 against Austin FC II, the MLS Next Pro champion, in Austin, Texas.
Louisville City responded immediately in the 86th minute with Wilson Harris firing a shot from the left into the opposite post after Christopher Andrade's hasty exit. In the end, the friendly match ended 4-2.
